The potential of a metal cannot be measured on its own, so structure potential is always measured against a reference electrode with a stable potential. By convention, the standard hydrogen electrode is taken as zero volts and other electrodes are expressed relative to it. Payesh Sanat Novin manufactures and supplies copper/copper sulfate, silver/silver chloride and zinc reference electrodes in permanent (buried) and portable models for evaluating cathodic protection systems in soil and marine environments. The permanent electrode stays in place for continuous potential monitoring, while the portable electrode is used for surveys and periodic measurements.
